Round 1 Part 1 vs. The Hylan

Avon had been dozing – but a call from the small creature with a tiny bit of metal it had seen earlier woke it. It looked up, antennae standing straight up. Clues? Doors? Numbers? Suddenly a small piece of paper landed in its face. It flailed around slightly before prying it off and shook its head. 8, the paper said.

Avon raised itself into a standing form to look at the doors and made the connection – that was the number of the door it should go through. But…who would it be fighting?

It wove through the crowd, narrowly missing a burst of flame from a winged purple creature and skirting around a white thing with green arms. After slinking past a huge black creature and a finned blue animal it found its way to the door. What it must it do to win again? Get its opponent's manipulator. Right!

It looked down for a moment to check that its crystal was still safely in its pocket, and it was, light from a distant sun glinting off it. It looked back at the crowd wistfully...Avon wished it had time to ask questions. The creatures and people were all so unusual that it felt a bit shy, even though it wanted to know them all. Maybe its opponent wouldn't want to fight and they could just talk instead…

It opened the door and leapt through.
